The History of the Firedancers

Firedancers LLC was founded on June 14, 1986 by Robert Cantrell and Kim Olsen with charter members Manse Bridwell, Lucas Keith, and John Fellrath. Inspired by the Sundance club in Dallas, Texas and due to the fact that all original members had some Native American heritage, the name Firedancers was chosen.

The Firedancers colors were hung in The Trestle for approximately one year before moving to The Hidden Door where they have resided ever since.

The Firedancers quickly expanded to three tribes: Dallas, Houston, and San Antonio with the San Antonio tribe disbanding in 2003.

Our Colors

Red symbolizes the common blood we all share and for the contributions of Native Americans to the country.

Yellow represents the sun rising with the promise of a new day.

Black stands for the common bond shared by the men and women of the Leather Community.

Our Club Emblem is a dancing Warrior silhouetted against a background of five alternating yellow and red flames that represent the founding members.
